The Dream Journal is suitable for ages 12 and up.

The Vandermist Dossier and the Medusa Report are 14 and up, as both case files deal with adult themes, including disappearance and Cold War espionage.

Do they need an app or any technology to play?

Only the Dream Journal, which uses a small AR companion app available only on iPhone for now.
